HomeOur Sourcing

Sourced from Kenya's Best Highland Regions

We partner with HPMA-registered farmers across eight of Kenya's premier avocado-growing counties — chosen for altitude, soil quality, seasonal depth, and traceability.

How We Source

Three Pillars of Sourcing

Direct Farm Partnerships

We work directly with HPMA-registered farmer networks in each sourcing region. No aggregator middlemen. We maintain active relationships with growers from harvest decision through to export clearance.

Quality Gates at Source

Each sourcing zone has a designated quality checkpoint. Fruit is assessed by dry matter content, size, and skin condition before leaving the county. Non-conforming fruit is rejected at source — not at the packhouse, and certainly not at your receiving port.

Full Traceability

Every carton is traceable to its source farm and county. AFA / HPMA registration numbers are documented per shipment. Buyers receive full origin documentation on request.

The Regions

Eight Counties. One Standard.

Murang'a

1,400–1,800m
Hass
Season
March–September

Kenya's highest avocado production density. Cooperative-linked farms with established quality protocols and the longest commercial export history in the country.

Nyeri

1,600–2,000m
HassFuerte
Season
March–September

Highland volcanic soils produce fruit with notably high oil content, prized for flavour depth and shelf stability during sea transit.

Meru

1,200–1,800m
Hass
Season
April–October

Extended harvest window provides supply continuity into October when other regions wind down. Government-supported cooperative structures ensure consistent grading standards.

Embu

1,000–1,600m
HassFuerte
Season
April–October

County agricultural department runs targeted quality enhancement programs. Partnerships with international agricultural organisations support sustainable farming practices.

Kiambu

1,500–1,900m
Hass
Season
March–August

Proximity to Nairobi packhouses (under 60 minutes) enables rapid farm-to-cold-chain transition, minimising post-harvest temperature exposure.

Kisii

1,500–1,800m
Hass
Season
February–August

Rich volcanic soils and slightly earlier maturity than Central Kenya regions. Kisii consistently provides the first Hass avocados of the season.

Nakuru

1,800–2,000m
Hass
Season
May–September

Highest altitude sourcing zone. Slower maturation produces denser fruit, higher dry matter content, and longer shelf life. Minimal pest pressure reduces residue risk.

Makueni

800–1,200m
HassFuerte
Season
May–September

Warmer belt extends the supply window. Situated on the Nairobi–Mombasa highway corridor, giving logistics advantages for Mombasa port sea shipments.

Regulatory Note

All Kyawol sourcing farms are registered with the Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) through the Horticultural Produce Management Authority (HPMA). Supplier lists are submitted per season as required under Kenya's Horticultural Regulations. KEPHIS phytosanitary inspections are conducted per shipment at AFA-registered packhouses.
